On Wednesday, President Gitanas Nausėda attended the Vilnius NATO Summit meeting with the leaders of the European Union and the Indo-Pacific partners (Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand).
The President noted that both the Euro-Atlantic and the Indo-Pacific regions are currently on the geopolitical frontlines, and that the security situation in these regions is closely linked.
"NATO, the EU, and Indo-Pacific partners share the same values. We are united by our commitment to defend against the threats and challenges of authoritarian regimes. Also, to defend the rules-based international order," the President underlined.
Gitanas Nausėda stressed that the world stands united in support of Ukraine, and that this support has to be long-term. "We must support Ukraine until it liberates all its territory. We must support Ukraine until it wins this brutal war," President Gitanas Nausėda spoke.
The Head of State added that Lithuania contributes to the sustained efforts of the EU, NATO and partner countries to keep the Indo-Pacific free, open and rules-based, and called on the allies to use all available measures to promote world peace and partnership.
