
Lithuania develops medium term assistance plan for Ukraine to encompass beyond military needs

"We are in progress on a medium term assistance plan for Ukraine. The assistance will address not only military needs but also the defence reform so that Ukraine comes closer to NATO membership as a result," said Minister of National Defence on June 15 at the NATO Defence Ministers meeting with participation of Minister of Defence of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov.
Minister also attended the Ramstein format Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting Thursday in Brussels as well. The meeting addressed the course of the war and further assistance the countries were to render. Minister confirmed that Lithuania's next package of assistance to Ukraine includes millions of 5.56 mm rounds of ammunition, drone jamming equipment, EUR 1 million contribution to the UK-administered International Fund for lethal weaponry to Ukraine, and half a million euros to the NATO Trust Fund for non-lethal assistance to Ukraine.
Lithuania will also further actively provide training assistance with the ambition this year set as high as 2300 Ukrainian graduates.
The Ramstein format donor nations also agreed on new initiatives in assistance of the fighting Ukraine, including F-16 fighter jets and IT projects.
