Iran not provide military aid to any side in Ukraine's war: Amir-Abdollahian

Tehran (ISNA) - Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian held a meeting with United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths for talks on issues of common concern, including the conditions and humanitarian situation in Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan, and Ukraine.

In the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest developments in the humanitarian field and the related cooperation capacities.

Referring to Iran's hosting of several million refugees and migrants from Afghanistan, Amir-Abdollahian emphasized the support of the United Nations for creating the suitable infrastructure to meet their needs.

Regarding the situation in Ukraine, the top Iranian diplomat explained the principled positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in relation to the conflict and emphasized that Iran does not provide military aid to any side in the war.

Iran, he added, does not consider war as a solution and supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, including Ukraine.

For his part, Griffiths briefed the Iranian minister of foreign affairs on his efforts related to humanitarian issues and explained his views on the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan and Ukraine.
