Phone Call with UN Secretary-General Guterres

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres.
The call addressed the developments regarding the Russia-Ukraine war and the grain corridor.
President Erdoğan voiced his pleasure over the reopening of the grain corridor as a result of the diplomacy traffic they had held with Russian and Ukrainian parties at the highest level.
President Erdoğan noted that it was then time to focus once again on the extension of the Istanbul Agreement.
UN Secretary-General Guterres, for his part, thanked President Erdoğan for his efforts that had ensured the reopening of the grain corridor.
Also touching upon the issue of the cross-border humanitarian aids delivered to Syria, President Erdoğan stated that he expected strong support for the efforts aimed at extending the Security Council resolution, which will expire on January 10, on this issue.
