In the 2022 budget procedure, the funds for the Enable and Enhance Initiative were increased to a total of 2 billion euros for 2022. These additional funds are to be used primarily to support Ukraine. At the same time, they are used to fund Germany's increased obligatory contributions to the European Peace facility (EPF), from which EU member states can be reimbursed for support they provide to Ukraine.
