Russia would not like to see Ukraine violating international law and threatening international flight safety with planned missile launches west of the Crimean peninsula coastline, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Wednesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Russian air transport agency Rosaviatsia said last week that Ukraine unilaterally decided to hold missile firing exercises near Simferopol in violation of international agreements.

The missile drills are expected to take place on December 1-2 between 05:00 GMT and 17:00 GMT, Rosaviatsia said, adding that the launches will extend into Russia's civil airspace and present a threat to flight safety.

"The Kremlin would not want Ukraine to take any actions in violation of international law that could lead to the creation of dangerous conditions for international flights over Russian territory or in surrounding areas," Peskov told reporters.

On Wednesday, the Russian Transport Ministry said that Russian aviation authorities have informed the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) of Ukraine's warning on introducing new restrictions for flights over the Black Sea near Crimea.
