Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says Moscow is looking forward to another round of peace talks on the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
"There is constructive base to move forward on... the economic restoration of Donbass (Ukraine's eastern region), establishing political dialogue that should eventually lead to a constitutional reform," Lavrov said, while addressing a meeting with Russian foreign policy experts in Moscow on Friday.
The objective of such peace talks would be to reinforce previous attempts for establishing permanent ceasefire in the eastern region.
"A chance emerged to establish peace in Ukraine. With difficulties, but a ceasefire, a truce has been established," TASS News Agency quoted Lavrov as saying.
On December 8, it was announced that both Kiev and pro-Russia forces were ready to negotiate over east Ukraine crisis for the first time in three months.
Statistics by the United Nations show that the eight-month conflict has claimed the lives of more than 4,000 people.
Ukraine's mainly Russian-speaking regions in the east have seen clashes between the army and pro-Russia forces since April.
