Ukrainian army continues shooting during truce - Lugansk People's Republic
25 June 2014, 20:47 -- The Ukrainian authorities took advantage of the ceasefire to strengthen their positions and continue to bombard settlements of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic (LPR), Chairman of the Supreme Council of the LPR, Alexey Karyakin said on Wednesday. He noted that immediately after the announcement of the truce there were victims among the civilian population on the territory of the LPR as a result of shellings.
'A mutual decision on ceasing fire was made, as well as on ceasing any movements of military vehicles. It was fundamental in order to begin peace talks. But, unfortunately, after we had agreed on a ceasefire, reports showed that the Ukrainian authorities have used the truce and strengthened their movement in our direction; began to concentrate troops at our borders, received aviation. We see that the Ukrainian authorities have ordered to bombard our settlements,' RIA Novosti quotes Karyakin.
Disablement of treasury accounts by Kiev is de facto recognition of Lugansk People's Republic
Aleksey Karyakin, the chairman of the Supreme Council of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic (LPR), believes Ukraine has in fact recognized the LPR's independence by its actions. 'By disabling the treasury accounts on the LPR territory, Ukraine has so recognized our statehood,' Karyakin said at a press conference in Lugansk.
'The Ukrainian government declares that it cares about the people. At the same time, by disabling the treasury accounts, it has deprived hundreds of thousands of its supposed citizens of means of sustenance,' Karyakin said.
'We, on our part, were prepared for such a turn and had developed a mechanism in advance that would help us minimize our losses in the current financial situation both for enterprises and LPR citizens,' he said.

A list of DPR deputies to the parliament of the Union of the People's Republics has been approved.
