DPR assumes control over Donetsk dep't of Ukraine's National Bank, State Treasury
16 June 2014, 15:34 -- Supporters of the Donetsk People's Republic on Monday assumed control over the department of the National Bank of Ukraine in the Donetsk region and the State Treasury.
'Technical negotiations are now being conducted in the State Treasury and the National Bank of Ukraine. It's not a forced seizure, it's a planned dialogue,' Andrei Purgin, first deputy prime minister of the Donetsk People's Republic, told Interfax.
The press service for the Donetsk People's Republic said the main purpose of the talks with the National Bank and the State Treasury is to stop money and taxes going from Donbas to Ukraine.
The building of the national Bank in Donetsk is now encircled and the crossing of Artyom Street and Prospekt Mira, where of the department of the National Bank of Ukraine for the Donetsk region, are closed to traffic by traffic police.
