Russia's FM warns Ukraine against state border violations

14 June 2014, 19:23 -- The Russian Foreign Ministry has expressed serious concern about 'the significant aggravation in recent times of the situation on several sections of the Russian-Ukrainian state border resulting from the provocative actions of the Ukrainian side.' The ministry issued a statement saying that on June 5 a Ukrainian Su-27 aircraft penetrated the Russian air space to the depth of 1.5 kilometers in the area of Kuibyshevo, according to Interfax.

On June 12 in the same area a Mi-8 with Ukrainian emblems flying at the altitude of 50meters violated the air space of the Russian Federation to a distance of 3 kilometers.

In the area of the towns of Dyakovo (Ukraine) and Novaya Nadezhda (Russia) armored vehicles maneuvered at a distance of 5 meters to the borderline.

On June 13 in the area of Kamenno-Tuzlovka (Russia) an APC with eight Ukrainian servicemen aboard violated the state border and penetrated some 150 meters inside Russian territory with another vehicle trying to follow it.

The same day in Kuibyshevo as a result of fire from Ukrainian territory bullets hit a private homestead. Movements of significant numbers of military vehicles, ordnance and armored vehicles have been noted in frontier areas of Amvrosiyevka and Shakhtarsk districts of Donetsk region, Ukraine. 'If the Ukrainian side continues to violate state border regulations, all due measures will be taken to stop them,' the ministry statement says.
