Right Sector leader threatens to sabotage Russian pipelines in Ukraine

16 March 2014, 17:20 -- The head of the Ukrainian nationalist movement Dmitry Yarosh has threatened to explode the gas pipeline through which the Russian gas is supplied to Europe, aiming to deprive it of its financing source.

Yarosh voiced his threats as part of his 'address to the Ukrainian government and his compatriots' in which he is accusing Moscow of having plans to seize Ukraine . The text of his address was cited by the UNN news agency.

'We are well aware of the fact that Russia is earning money by transporting its oil and gas to the West through our pipe. Therefore, we'll destroy this pipe in order to deprive Russia of its financing source.'

Yarosh threatened to 'destroy the pipe', because with its help 'Russia is making money, distilling oil and gas.' He also demanded the Ukrainian government to immediately form a Supreme High Command General HQ, declare a levy en masse, take weapons inland, ensure the supply of arms from NATO countries. Some incidents have already been reported around the gas transportation system. Group of persons, who claimed to be the staff of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine tried to damage the pipeline on Arabatskaya arm in the Crimea, but self-defense forces have prevented the diversion. To avoid such attempts, the gas-distributing plant was placed under protection, the Crimean Prime Minister Sergei Aksenov said.

Yarosh previously addressed to the leader of the Chechen terrorists Doku Umarov for support on the page of his syndicate in the VKontakte social network. Basmanny Court of Moscow on Wednesday authorized Yarosh's arrest in absentia. The head of the ultranationalist Ukrainian organization publicly calls on anti-Russian forces to initiate extremist actions and acts of terrorism against Russia, the investigators said. Yarosh was also put on international wanted list. The Russian Foreign Ministry has repeatedly urged the de facto authorities in Kiev and Western politicians to 'close the road to power for neo-fascist Yarosh and his supporters.'

Yarosh previously announced his intention to participate in the presidential elections in Ukraine. The change of government that happened in Ukraine on February 22, has signs of a coup. The Supreme Council ousted President Viktor Yanukovych from power, changed the constitution and appointed new elections for May 25. Yanukovych said that he had been forced to leave Ukraine under threat of violence, but remains the legally elected head of state. Moscow believes that the legitimacy of the Verkhovna Rada decisions is doubtful. A number of areas in eastern and southern Ukraine, as well as the Crimea, refused to recognize the legitimacy of the parliament and decided to hold a referendum on the future fate of regions.
