KIEV, February 7 (RIA Novosti) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who appears to have narrowly lost Sunday's presidential election runoff to rival opposition leader Viktor Yanukovych, said it was too early to name the winner, and pledged to defend each vote cast for her.

According to exit polls, Yanukovych is leading with 48.7-50.3%, while Tymoshenko has 44%-45.6%.

"Each vote decides the destiny of Ukraine. We are fighting for each vote," Tymoshenko told journalists.

The candidate that gains a simple majority of votes wins the runoff. No minimum voter turnout is required.

In the first round on January 17, Yanukovych gained 35.32% of the vote and Tymoshenko came second with 25.05%.
