We will work without rest and without pause regardless of hardships and obstacles until we turn this century into the Century of Türkiye."
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech ahead of the August 30 Victory Day Special Concert in Ankara.
Noting that the Great Offensive was crowned with a historic victory on August 30, 1922, President Erdoğan described the Great Victory, the 103rd anniversary of which is being celebrated with enthusiasm and pride this year, as one of the most critical milestones of the War of Independence.
President Erdoğan said: "With this victory, our army and nation gathered themselves up and regained their self-confidence, rising like a phoenix from their ashes. The August 30 Victory, in which we defeated the occupying militaries and thwarted the imperial aspirations, became an acknowledgment and an everlasting seal of our will for independence as well as our eternal presence on these lands. Our march of victory, which started in Malazgirt in 1071 and strengthened in Dumlupınar in 1922, has continued uninterruptedly for a thousand years, and will inshallah continue forever. We will work without rest and without pause regardless of hardships and obstacles until we turn this century into the Century of Türkiye."
