
Turkish Forces Kill 14 PKK Fighters in Tunceli Province

14 Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK) fighters, including five women, were killed in the air-backed operation by Turkish forces in the in eastern Tunceli province, according to local media reports.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – A total of 14 Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK) fighters were killed in an air-backed operation by Turkish forces in the in eastern Tunceli province on Friday, local media reported Friday.
A source told the Daily Sabah Newspaper that the bodies were found during a search counducted by Turkish troops following the air-backed operation, and among the dead fighters, five were women.
The Turkish forces also found a large number of weapons, ammunition and other supplies on the scene.
PKK is outlawed in Turkey as a terrorist organization. A ceasefire between Turkey and Kurdish militants collapsed in July 2015, prompting the Turkish authorities to launch a military operation in the Kurdish-dominated southeastern regions.
