When asked to comment on the US House of Representatives' passing the so-called Taiwan Conflict Deterrence Act, and the Democratic Progressive Party authority's claim that the current US Congress has so far proposed more than 20 bills directly "supporting Taiwan," along with over 20 additional bills or resolutions mentioning "supporting Taiwan," Chen Binhua, a spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, expressed firm opposition to the multiple Taiwan-related bills concocted by the current US Congress, which has repeatedly sent serious wrong signals to the authorities of Lai Ching-te and the "Taiwan independence" separatists.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Chen said that the US should adhere to the one-China principle and the provisions of the three China-US Joint Communiqués, and handle the Taiwan question prudently. No matter how the DPP authorities seek "Taiwan independence" through foreign support, or how external forces stir up trouble, the historical trend of the eventual and inevitable reunification of the motherland cannot be stopped, Chen said.
