
Korea's 'Black Eagles' acrobatic team makes refueling stop at Kaohsiung

Kaohsiung, Feb. 16 (CNA) The South Korean air force's "Black Eagles" aerobatic team made a refueling stop at Taiwan's southern Kaohsiung airport on Thursday en route to Australia for an air show later this month in Melbourne.
A total of nine of the team's T-50B trainers and one C-130 transport aircraft landed at Kaohsiung International Airport in four groups from 8:25 a.m. to 10:25 a.m. on Thursday morning.
The aircraft will depart Thursday afternoon before heading south for the Australian International Airshow to be staged from Feb. 28 to March 5 at Melbourne's Avalon Airport.
The acrobatic squad previously made a refueling stop at Kaohsiung in August 2022 while en route to Basa Air Base in the Philippines.
The Republic of Korea Air Force aerobatic team was formed on Dec. 12, 1994, and flew six Cessna A-37B Dragonfly airplanes. It disbanded temporarily after the 2007 Seoul Air Show and reformed upon the arrival of the new T-50 Golden Eagle aircraft, codenamed T-50B, in 2010.
