KMT leader congratulates Biden, Harris on winning election

Taipei, Nov. 8 (CNA) Johnny Chiang (江啟臣), chairman of Taiwan's main opposition Kuomintang (KMT) party, congratulated Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on Sunday for winning the U.S. presidential election.
"On behalf of the KMT, Chairman Johnny Chiang cordially congratulates Mr. Biden and the Democratic vice presidential nominee Ms. Kamala D. Harris on their successful election campaign," Chiang said in a statement.
Chiang said the KMT looks forward to a continued reciprocal and cooperative partnership between Taiwan and the United States under Biden, as well as more constructive developments in this relationship in the areas of international participation, trade, democracy and security.
