President arrives in San Francisco after Central America visit

San Francisco, Jan. 13 (CNA) President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) arrived in San Francisco Friday for a stopover en route home after winding up her Central America trip.
Tsai was greeted by Taiwan's representative to the United States Stanley Kao (高碩泰) and American Institute in Taiwan Chairman James Moriarty at the airport.
During her stopover in San Francisco, she is scheduled to visit high-tech companies, attend activities related to the Asian Silicon Valley, which is designed to improve Taiwan's overall economic structure.
The president will also have a luncheon with Taiwanese expatriates.
Tsai's delegation, which visited Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala and El Salvador over the past week, will leave San Francisco Saturday afternoon and is expected to arrive in Taipei at 10 p.m. Sunday.
