Taipei, Nov. 13 (CNA) Two C-130 military cargo planes will continue delivering relief supplies to the storm-ravaged Philippines Wednesday.

The Ministry of National Defense (MND) said the two C-130s would take off from an air base in Hsinchu in northern Taiwan and would fly directly to the Philippines.

The ministry sent two C-130s to airlift relief goods to Cebu in the central Philippines Tuesday and the planes returned to Taiwan in the evening that day.

MND officials said the mission may have to continue through Thursday in terms of the quantity of relief supplies to be donated to the Philippines.

Super Typhoon Haiyan hit the central Philippines on Nov. 8, leaving a trail of ruin and devastation.

Between 80 and 90 percent of the buildings in the worst-hit Leyte province were damaged or destroyed.

Serious shortages of food and water ensued, and the area in the province's Tacloban has fallen into a state of anarchy, with looting rampant.
