Taipei, Aug. 7 (CNA) An Air Force fighter jet overshot the runway at an air force base in Tainan on Wednesday but no one was hurt, officials said.
The AIDC F-CK-1 Ching-kuo, also known as the Indigenous Defence Fighter (IDF), was coming in to land at the military base in southern Taiwan at 9: 51 a.m., when it overshot the runway and landed on a grassy area.
The pilot was unhurt and there were no casualties on the ground, the officials said.
The flight was part of a regular training session, the military said, quashing speculation that it was a rehearsal for an air show on Saturday.
The air force did not explain the cause of the incident, saying only it will repair the damage to the jet fighter.
