Taipei, May 28 (CNA) Computerized war games will continue to be held every year to strengthen inter-agency communication and coordination, the National Security Council (NSC) said after a successful virtual military exercise Tuesday.
The NSC said in a statement that this year's computerized war games showed better planning and communication among all the participating government agencies.
The agency said the virtual military exercise demonstrated the government's determination to "make peace by avoiding war."
The exercise simulated conflicts in the East and South China Seas between other countries. It involved national security officials and related agencies gathering at the National Political-Military Command Center in Taipei to handle the issue.
Earlier in the day, President Ma Ying-jeou boarded one of the military's Yunpao CM-32 armored vehicles for the first time as part of over the exercise.
He took part in similar excercises in 2009 and 2011.
