China's chief negotiator arrives in Taiwan

Taipei, Dec. 20 (CNA) China's chief negotiator with Taiwan, Chen Yunlin, arrived in Taipei Monday for his sixth meeting with his Taiwanese counterpart since 2008.

Chen, president of the Beijing-based Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS), will hold talks with Taipei-based Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF) Chairman Chiang Pin-kung Tuesday and sign a cross-Taiwan Strait medical and healthcare cooperation agreement.

SEF Vice Chairman Kao Koong-lian and ARATS Vice Presideng Zheng Lizhong are scheduled to meet later Monday to put finishing touches to the proposed pact.

Chen will visit the Taipei International Flora Exposition before returning to China Wednesday. (By Charles Kang and Y.F. Low) ENDITEM
