Taipei, June 2 (CNA) A magazine report about a medium-range missile test-firing plan is not accurate, the Ministry of National Defense (MND) said in a statement Wednesday, without elaborating.
Next magazine reported in its latest issue that the military will test-fire its newly developed surface-to-surface missiles, with a range of 2,000 kilometers, on Thursday and Friday.
The test-firing will be part of an overall tactical assessment, the weekly tabloid magazine said.
The MND said in the statement that its various weapons research and test-firing plans have been proceeding smoothly in accordance with their original schedules, but that, in line with its customary practice, it would not comment on R&D details. (By Lee Ming-chung and Sofia Wu) enditem/ls
