Taipei, May 11 (CNA) National security and intelligence personnel will not undergo a major reshuffle for the time being, sources close to President-elect Ma Ying-jeou said Sunday.
With slightly more than a week to go before his inauguration, Ma announced the lineup of his national security advisory team Sunday, with Su Chi, a former Mainland Affairs Council chairman, serving as secretary-general of the National Security Council (NSC).
However, the reshuffle list didn't include officials in charge of the country's security and intelligence affairs, such as head of the National Security Bureau (NSB).
One of Ma's aides said he has advised Ma not to reshuffle the NSB personnel at present, with an aim to maintain domestic political stability.
According to him, Ma should refrain from reshuffling leadership at the NSB and even the Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau and the Military Intelligence Bureau in the initial period of his administration as all of the three agencies are responsible for security and intelligence affairs that require personnel stability.
