ARMY INSTALLS NEW NIGHTTIME COMBAT TRAINING FACILITY

Taipei, Feb. 16 (CNA) The Army Special Service Force training center in central Taichung County has installed a new nighttime combat training classroom in the hopes of upgrading the Special Service Force's nighttime combat capabilities, military sources said Friday.
The special training center in Taichung County's Kukuan township has long been known as a testing ground for the Army's special service personnel. The new training facility is aimed at honing the special service forces' nighttime combat skills, sources said.
Noting that intensive, rigorous nighttime combat training is expected to help special service officers and soldiers overcome fear and psychological pressures, an Army officer said the installation is consistent with worldwide security trends.
According to the officer, the Army has referred to simialr foreign facilities in designing the new nighttime training classroom in which military instructors can design various training and testing programs to improve team spirit and coordination.
