Taipei, June 29 (CNA) President Chen Shui-bian will preside over a high-level meeting this afternoon to discuss the content of a national security report to be released this summer, a Presidential Office spokesman said Wednesday.
Many senior officials, including Vice President Annette Lu, who just returned from a three-day visit to Palau at noon, Premier Frank Hsieh, Presidential Office Secretary-General Yu Shyi-kun and National Security Council Secretary-General Chiou I-jen, will attend the meeting, the spokesman said
President Chen said earlier this year that he would set a precedent in Taiwan by issuing a national security report for the first time this summer.
The national security report will cover five major categories of national affairs -- finance and economy, national defense, relations across the Taiwan Strait, diplomacy, and national land conservation, according to Chen.
