Moscow, Dec 18, Itar-Tass/ACSNA/IRNA -- Russia does not accept independence of Taiwan in any form, the Russian Foreign Ministry`s spokesman Alexander Yakovenko said on Saturday, commenting on the Chinese parliament`s consideration of a draft law combating separatism. In Russia`s view, there is only one China in the world. The Chinese government is the only legitimate government representing all China, and Taiwan is China`s integral part, Yakovenko said. "We do not accept the concept of `two Chinas` or `one China and one Taiwan`. Russia consistently supports China`s efforts for peaceful settlement of the Taiwan problem, the diplomat noted. In accordance with the Russian-Chinese treaty on neighborly relations, friendship and cooperation (July 16, 2001), Russia supports China`s policy for protection of the state unity and territorial integrity, the Foreign Ministry spokesman said. /2322/1432
