INTELLIGENCE UNIT MUM OVER REPORTS ABOUT BEIJING SPY CRACKDOWN
Taipei, April 15 (CNA) The Military Intelligence Bureau (MIB) stayed buttoned up Thursday amid reports from Hong Kong that Beijing cracked down on a Taiwan spy ring before the March 20 presidential election, arresting several officers of the People's Liberation Army.
An anonymous MIB officer said his bureau was perusing the report and has not yet figured out why the reports claim that the People's Liberation Army officers supposedly detained by Beijing for unknown reasons were spying for Taiwan.
