"Our wish is for our neighbor Syria to rapidly attain peace and stability"
Presidency of The Republic of Turkey

Addressing AK Party's provincial congress in Gaziantep, President Erdoğan said: "We do not have eyes on even one single pebble of any country, let alone their lands. Our wish is for our neighbor Syria to rapidly attain the peace, stability and calm it has been longing for over the past 13 years."
President and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the party's provincial congress in Gaziantep.
"IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR TÜRKİYE TO IGNORE DEVELOPMENTS IN A COUNTRY WITH WHICH IT SHARES A 910-KILOMETER BORDER"
Stressing that in the refugee issue, history will record how Türkiye successfully passed the test of humanity despite all the propaganda to the contrary, President Erdoğan said: "I believe that you, just like us, are closely following the critical developments taking place right across our border. It appears that increasing attacks on civilians in Idlib has been the final straw that triggered the latest incidents. It is certainly impossible for Türkiye to ignore developments in a country with which it shares a 910-kilometer border. We reviewed the developments unfolding on the ground in a manner befitting the Republic of Türkiye during the National Security Council on Thursday. Let me first of all underline that we do not have eyes on even one single pebble of any country, let alone their lands. Our wish is for our neighbor Syria to rapidly attain the peace, stability and the atmosphere of calm it has been longing for over the past 13 years."
"THERE IS NOW A NEW POLITICAL AND DIPLOMATIC REALITY IN SYRIA"
Stressing that a million Syrians have died in the attacks of the regime and terrorist organizations, President Erdoğan noted that nearly 12 million Syrians have been displaced from their homes, with tens of thousands of women, babies and elderly people losing their lives while emigrating to other countries.
Pointing out that Türkiye wishes for its neighbors whatever it wishes for itself, President Erdoğan stated: "We may have a border between us. However, we have both a shared fate and shared troubles. We have been living in this region side by side for a thousand years, and we will inshallah continue to live in health and unity for many more centuries. It must be acknowledged by all that there is now a new political and diplomatic reality in Syria. Syria belongs to the Syrians, with all its ethnic, sectarian and religious components. The Syrian people will determine the future of their country. Adding fuel to the fire will benefit no one. Running after geopolitical gains would bring no good to the Syrian people."
"WE WILL NOT ALLOW ANY MOVE THAT WOULD JEOPARDIZE OUR NATIONAL SECURITY"
Drawing attention to the separatist terrorist organization's desire to take advantage of the recent developments in Syria, President Erdoğan said: "We will not allow any move that would jeopardize our national security and interests. It will be best for our region if the all responsible actors and international organizations support Syria's territorial integrity. Incidents of the past 13 years have demonstrated that no result can be obtained by shedding blood, taking lives, and bombing civilians. It must be acknowledged by all that Syria has had enough of wars, tears and blood. Our Syrian brothers and sisters deserve peace more than anyone else."
"WE WANT TO SEE A SYRIA WHERE PEACE PREVAILS"
Emphasizing that Türkiye's sole aim has always been the Syrian people's prosperity and wellbeing, President Erdoğan added: "This was our goal both when we opened our doors to our brothers and sisters fleeing from massacres and oppression and when we extended our hand to find a solution to the Syrian crisis. However, the Damascus regime couldn't grasp the value of the hand Türkiye extended."
President Erdoğan further stressed: "Türkiye stands on the right side of history today, as it did yesterday. We want to see a Syria where peace prevails; where no one is excluded regardless of whether they are Arabs, Turkmens, Kurds, Sunnis, Nusayris or Christians; where no one's rights and freedoms are violated; where no one faces oppression; where different identities live side by side in peace. We hope to see such a Syria in the near future."
