Russia: Iran fighting terrorism in Syria lawfully

Moscow, Oct 4, IRNA -- Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday that Iranian military forces are fighting international terrorism lawfully and on the invitation of the Syrian government.
She made the remarks in a news meeting where she referred to Iran's recent missile attack on those behind the terrorist attack in Ahvaz off the eastern coast of Euphrates.
Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) on Monday fired six surface-surface ballistic missiles at takfiri terrorists' positions in areas east of Euphrates Syria.
In the operation, some of the leaders and agents of the recent terrorist crimes were killed or injured, and their infrastructures and ammunition depots destroyed.
At least 25 people, including women and children, were killed and more than 60 others injured in September 22 terror attack in Ahvaz which took place during a military parade held to mark the 38th anniversary of the eight-year (1980-88) war imposed on Iran. The self-proclaimed Saudi-affiliated Al-Ahwaz terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack.
