Iranian, Syrian FMs meet in Damascus

Tehran (ISNA) - Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem held a meeting with visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Monday.
During the meeting, the officials discussed bilateral issues and the latest developments in Syria, immigrants, regional issues, need for continuation and reinforcement of Astana meeting, expansion of economic cooperation, involvment of Iranian companies in the reconstruction of Syria, cooperation in international organizations specially the United Nations and Yemeni crisis.
At the meeting, Mr. Zarif stressed that Iran would continue its support for Syrian government in its fighting against terrorist groups.
He emphasized that upcoming trilateral summit in Tehran between Turkey, Russia and Iran will follow the previous route of the talks assisting to take new more steps toward the final solution for Syria's crisis.
Walid Muallem, for his part, thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for supporting Syria in its fight against terrorist groups and demanded the continued support of Tehran.
