Iran, Syrian defense ministers discuss issues of mutual interests

Damascus, Aug 26, IRNA -- Syrian Defense Minister Lieutenant General Ali Ayyoub said on Sunday that by cooperation and participation of resistance axis, especially the Islamic Republic of Iran, Syria could finally win the war against terrorism after about eight years.
He made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Iranian Minister of Defense Brigadier General Amir Hatami in Damascus.
Lieutenant General Ayyoub reminded that without Iranian helps Syria could not win war against terrorists, and added that Iran, Syria bilateral relations is extensive and concentrated and both states are using each other experiences.
He stressed that victories in Syria has caused concerns of enemies, on top of them the US and the Zionist regime.
Lieutenant General Ayyoub underlined that bilateral relations between the two countries are firm and Syria will not allow any country to disrupt such relations.
General Hatami thanked for invitation of his Syrian counterpart to pay a visit to Syria and said that relations between the two states has passed ordinary ties and has reached to strategic relations.
He expressed Iranian government and nation felicitations for recent big victories of Syrian government against terrorism and underlined that Iran will stay with Syrian nation by the end.
General Hatami added that liberation of Syria from existed terrorists causes stability and security in the region and ruins pretext of alien interferences.
'Iran will spare no efforts to protect Syrian territorial integrity, because security in Syria helps stability in the region,' he said.
The Iranian Defense Minister added that extra-regional countries intended to sow discord and create instability in Syria and Iran will spare no efforts to create stability in Syria.
Brigadier General Amir Hatami at the head of delegation arrived in Damascus on Sunday morning for a 2-day visit. He is to meet with President Bashar al-Assad as well.
