Russia: No talks with US over Iran's exit from Syria

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Moscow, Aug 21, IRNA -- Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday that his country has had no talks with the US over Ira's withdrawal from Syria.

Aksed whether Russia has held negotiations with the US to reduce Iran's clout in Syria, he told reporters that there was not such a thing.

Based on the western media outlets, US national security adviser John Bolton has recently claimed that the US, Israel and Russia have common interests in minimizing Iran's influence in Syria and Putin and Trump have reached agreements in this respect.

In response to a question on Trump's proposal to abolish anti-Russia sanctions against cooperation between Washington and Moscow on Syria and Ukraine, he said that Russia plays more part in settlement of Syrian issues than other countries.
