Syrian ceasefire guarantors stress protecting country's sovereignty

Sochi, July 31, IRNA -- Three Syrian ceasefire guarantor countries – Iran, Russia and Turkey - on Tuesday underlined protecting the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
All sides present in the Sochi summit agreed on respecting the Syria's sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity, a statement read by the Russian President's Special Envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentiev said.
The statement was released after the quadrilateral meeting in the Russian resort of Sochi.
In the statement, Iran, Russia and Turkey stressed continuation of fight against the terrorist groups including Daesh and Al-Nusra Front.
According to the statement, they also announced November 2018 as the date for holding the next meeting on Syria peace talks.
The 10th round of Syrian peace talks, known as Astana format, began its second day on Tuesday with a quadrilateral meeting between Iran, Turkey, Russia and the UN envoys for Syria.
Hossein Jaberi-Ansari, senior assistant to Iran's foreign minister, Russian President's Special Envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentiev, Turkey's representative Sedat Onal and the UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura participated in the meeting.
At the meeting, de Mistura represented an unofficial document on Syria's constitutional committee. The instruction on the procedure of selecting the committee members representing the Syrian government, opposition groups and the civil society of the country was discussed by the three envoys.
The two-day talks began on Monday with some bilateral and experts meetings.
Formation of a Syrian constitutional committee, the de-escalation zones established in Syria, and humanitarian issues, were topics of the July 30-31 talks.
