IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, June 2, IRNA -- Syrian foreign minister thanked the Islamic Republic for sending military advisors to the war-torn county which is suffering from terrorism for more than seven years.
"Since the beginning of the crisis, Iran has supported Syria in the war against terrorism backed and financed regionally and internationally… Iran has no military presence in the Syrian territories rather there are advisers who work by the side of the Syrian Arab Army, Syria's Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem said.
Al-Moallem noted that Iran has stood by Syria since the very beginning of the crisis in the fight against terrorism, and said, "We thank the Iranian people and leadership for their help.'
He went on to say that Syria is a sovereign state and it will cooperate with whoever it wishes on counterterrorism.
