Russia may consider supplying S-300 missile systems to Syria
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Moscow, April 14, IRNA -- Russian Armed Forces Command Headquarters announced on Saturday the country may send S-300 missile systems to Syria and other countries.
It made the remarks on Saturday after US, French and British air strikes on Syria, Ria Novosti reported.
The institute has reportedly declared that 73 rockets of 103 cruise missiles fired at Syria have been tracked by the Syrian air defense.
Russian President Vladimir Putin condemned the overnight US-led missile attack on Syria and called for an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council, the Kremlin said on Saturday.
The US-led strikes on Saturday came after a suspected chemical weapons attack on the former rebel stronghold of Douma last week.
Assad's government and its ally Russia have called the alleged chemical attacks as fabrications.
