
Number of Syrian Settlements Joining Ceasefire Reaches 918

Four Syrian settlements joined the truce in the war-torn country in the last 24 hours amid 41 regitered ceasefire violations, the Russian Defense Ministry said Thursday.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The total number of settlements that have joined the cessation of hostilities in war-torn Syria has increased to 918, the ministry said in a daily bulletin posted on its website.
"Within the last 24 hours, truce agreements have been reached with representatives of four settlements in Latakia (2), Damascus (1), and Homs (1) provinces, bringing the total number of settlements that have joined the ceasefire to 918," the bulletin reads.
According to the document, negotiations on joining ceasefire regime have continued with field commanders of armed opposition units operating in Damascus, Homs, Quneitra, and Aleppo provinces.
Meanwhile, 41 violations of the ceasefire regime were registered in the last 24 hours by the Russian center for Syrian reconciliation at the Hmeimim airbase.
"A total of 41 ceasefire violations by illegal militant groups have been registered in Damascus (18), Aleppo (17), Latakia (5), and Daraa (1) provinces," the ministry added.
The Jabhat Fatah Al-Sham, formerly known as Nusra Front, and the Islamic State terrorist groups, which have been outlawed in Russia, are not part of the ceasefire deal.
