MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Vladimir Putin said that Russis will continue the airstrikes in Syria.

"Our military operation with aviation in Syria should not just simply continue, it should be intensified so that the criminals understand that revenge is unavoidable," Putin said during a meeting on the conclusions for the reason of the A321 passenger jet that crashed over Egypt's Sinai Peninsula on October 31, killing all 224 on board and officially deemed a terrorist act.

Russia has been conducting pinpoint airstrikes against terrorist targets in Syria at the request of President Bashar Assad since September 30. The operation has been coordinated with the Syrian government forces.
