The Syrian army continues mop-up operations against foreign-backed militants across the country.

Syrian forces destroyed militant hideouts in the farms of al-Sarkha town southwest of Yabroud in Damascus suburbs on Wednesday, state news agency SANA reported.

Syrian soldiers also killed and wounded members of a militant group in the al-Batra'a area east of the town of al-Rhaibeh in northeast Damascus countryside.

SANA said the Syrian army destroyed a militant hideout and several vehicles loaded with weaponry and ammunition in the mountains east of the city of al-Zabadani, killing and injuring a group of militants.

In the village of Jobar, which is located on the outskirts of Damascus, an army unit eliminated a dozen militants with the al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front terrorist group. Most of the terrorists were foreigners.

Meanwhile, Syrian special operation forces carried out similar operations in the town of Erbin.

On the outskirts of the city of Hama, Syrian forces seized a vehicle transporting some 35 rockets, according to a military source cited by SANA.

Syrian authorities arrested four militants attempting to infiltrate into Syria through the Lebanese border.

More than a dozen militants were also killed during a Syrian army operation in the village of al-Saan as they were preparing to launch rockets and shells.

Crisis has gripped Syria since March 2011.
