Syrian minister urges opposition groups to join national dialogue

Tehran, Nov 21, IRNA -- Syrian Minister of State for National Reconciliation Ali Haidar called on all Syrian groups, including the opposition ones, to attend the next meetings on "National Dialogue."

Talking to IRNA, Haidar said the meeting on the first Syrian National Dialogue that held in the Iranian capital for two days will continue in Damascus.

He reiterated that the National Dialogue will benefit all Syrian groups.

He then described Tehran meeting on Syria as the new chapter in Syrian developments, adding, the participants in the event reached an agreement on continuation of national talks in Damascus.

The Tehran meeting was an important initiative in seeking a united solution to the Syrian crisis, said the Syrian minister.

All participating groups in the Tehran "National Dialogue" reached an agreement on ending violence and preventing foreign meddling in the internal affairs of Syria, Haidar noted.

The meeting on the first Syrian National Dialogue was held in Tehran on November 18-19.

It was the first meeting in which all Syrian parties, including members of the opposition groups and representatives of the President Bashar al-Assad had participated to find proper solution to settle the 20-month-long crisis in the country.
