Iranian ambassador unveils peace plan to Syrian opposition groups

Tehran, Nov 19, IRNA -- Iran on Monday unveiled a peace plan to Syrian opposition groups to stop bloodshed and go ahead with democratic process and free and fair election to form national reconciliation government.
Iran's Ambassador to Damascus Mohammad Reza Sheibani called on the Syrian opposition groups to revise their military approach and cooperate with Iran to help implement the peace plan.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the Conference on "Syrian National Dialogue", he said Iran tries to resolve the issue through peaceful and political means.
It is expected that all opposition groups to adapt themselves with Iran's peace plan to put an end to turmoil and bloodshed, he said.
The Tehran Conference would prepare the ground for next steps to resolve the crisis and bolster national sovereignty in Syria, he said.
The Conference will not be the last resort to this end, he said, expressing hope that in next round of talks will lead to settlement of the crisis through democratic means.
Recent crisis has created unbearable losses to Syrian people, he said.
On the status of Iranian pilgrims kidnapped in Syria, he said there are good news about their freedom which will be announced soon.
