Moscow, June 22, IRNA -- Deputy Secretary General of Arab League Ahmed Ben Helli said on Friday, as an important player in the region, Iran must participate in International Meeting of Syria in Geneva on June 30.
He made the remarks in an interview with Russian state radio after a meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Michael Bugdanev in Moscow.
Saying Annan’s plan for Syria is doomed to fail, Bin Helli said all sides of Syria conflicts do not and can not stop bloodshed in the turmoiled land.
Underlying international contribution to solve Syrian issue and stop the violences there, he said the main duty is to agree on the agenda and the theme of the International Syria meeting in Geneva and to determine participants of the meeting.
“Iran’s participation in the Geneva meeting is under investigation; therefore, objectivity and logicality won over political consideration and Iran must have its own share in solving Syrian issue,“ Deputy Secretary General.
