TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said on Tuesday western countries should not enter into new issues in Syria.
Mehmanparast added, "some western powers try to create and toughen tension in and amongst the countries through suspicious aims. Iran recommends the West to learn lesson from its previous mistakes and interference in different countries and not to enter new issues to complicate the problems in the region."
He continued, "situation in Syria will be eased if foreigners allow.”
“Iran has frequently announced that any military meddling in the countries of the region, North Africa and Persian Gulf neighboring states is not legal and cannot help resolve the problems.” Mehmanparast said regarding comments of British Foreign Minister William Hague on military attack over Syria.
Also regarding Iran's military capability, he said, "Iran's military might is in line with defending territorial integrity, peace and stability in the region and there will be no danger for our neighboring or friend countries or those lie far from Iran,” Mehmanparast said referring to a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) official's remarks that establishing missile defense system aims to target Iran not Russia.
He moved to Russian National Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev's upcoming visit to Iran and said, "the visit is in line with continuous talks between officials of the two countries. Issues concerning mutual relations, regional and international developments and Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities will be discussed in the trip."
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister’ special aide said details about Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s "step-by-step approach" will be received and discussed by Iran.
As to S300 missle system, the Iranian spokesman added, “Iran will follow S300 compensation from Russia.”
