Iran: Military presence in Syria brings heavy consequences

TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said on Tuesday military presence in Syria brings heavy consequences for the region.

His remarks came after the US has spoken of a plan for military interference in Syrian borders and use of some neighboring states for the goal.

"We condemn any interference of other countries in regional states' affairs," Mehmanparast told reporters in his weekly press conference.

"We believe developments in Syria are internal issues and Syrian government and nation are wise enough to settle their problems."

Also regarding any possible military strike against Syria, he said, "military forces' presence in regional countries is not in favor of regional nations."
