NEW YORK, October 28, 2019, SPA -- Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the United Nations Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Muallimi reiterated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's clear stance on igniting any strife or war in the region, stressing that we do not seek war and do not want it or ignite it, but at the same time will not hesitate to defend our citizens and the capabilities of our country by all legitimate means, affirming the kingdom's belief in the principle of dialogue and peaceful settlement of disputes, but any call for dialogue should be consistent with an effective cessation of threats and hostilities, and countries that call for dialogue should reject policies based on exporting the revolution and creating sectarian enclaves and groups in the countries in order to interfere in their affairs.

This came in the kingdom's speech delivered today at the Security Council session on the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue.

He pointed out at the beginning of the speech that the kingdom has witnessed on September 14th attacks on pumping stations belonging to the company "Saudi Aramco" using Iranian weapons, causing the decline of oil production by nearly 50 percent, stressing that this act of aggression is a flagrant violation of international laws and customs, and an attack on international peace and security that requires from international community a historic position.

He pointed out that these attacks are a major threat to the supply of oil to the global markets and therefore the international economy, not only to Saudi Arabia, pointing out that the kingdom and thanks to God has been able to remedy the consequences of these attacks and restore production to normal in record time.

"It is clear to us that these and other attacks on international energy supplies and missile attacks on my country are a challenge to the kingdom's firm and strong policies as well as international action at various levels to counter terrorism that is exported to the region and to interfere in the internal affairs of its countries," he said.

"In this regard, the kingdom appreciates the condemnations issued by the international community for these attacks, and calls on it to take more comprehensive and stronger measures to fulfill its responsibilities in the face of these destructive policies that support terrorism, fuel sectarianism in the region, support armed militias, and seek to dismantle the states of the region and provoke sedition and threaten the security of supplies. The international community must realize that the time has come to act decisively and to unite to protect the region and the world economy from any adventures that may increase the crises of the region and the world. "

On the Palesinian cause, he highlighted the suffering of the Palestinian people and Israeli occupation government's horrific violations of human rights in Palestine. He also pointed out the kingdom's suppport fo the cause.

He referred to the Syrian crisis, pointing out the kingdom's condemnation of Turkish military operations in northern Syria. He also mentioned the Yemeni crisis and highlighted Saudi support for Yemen.
