Minister of Culture and Information: Fighting corruption is state's approach to promoting integrity and advancing reform

Riyadh, Safar 16, 1439, November 05, 2017, SPA -- Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Awad bin Saleh Al-Awad said that the royal decree on fighting corruption and tracking corrupt people is the state's approach to promoting integrity and advancing the reform that the state has led under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince.
The minister said that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince are keen to protect public money and eradicate corruption, which is considered a deterrent to the economy and society, indicating that this decision represents a shift in transparency and accountability and governance, which produces a healthy environment attractive to investment and raises the standards of perfection and quality.
Al-Awwad said that the fight against corruption is a formal and popular demand to achieve social justice and consolidate the values of integrity, justice and equality in society and accelerate the pace of reform and development of the renaissance of our country in various fields. This is an important step in the implementation of the kingdom's policy to preserve public money and punish corrupt people and those who exploit their positions, announcing the launch of a new stage that establishes the state's management style based on integrity, honesty and sincerity.
Dr. Al-Awad added that the message of the Crown Prince in punishing corrupt people is a clear and firm message that no one will escape accountability and punishment when proven to be involved in corruption cases.
Minister Al-Awad stressed that the fight against corruption comes within the framework of comprehensive reform witnessed by our country in all fields to enhance the kingdom's position and raise the efficiency of work and quality according to the best specifications through investing the available resources away from waste and exploitation, while taking care to save public money and spend it Honestly and accurately.
Dr. Al-Awwad explained that this decision will have a significant positive impact on the people of the kingdom to return looted funds to benefit from them in development projects and return tens of millions of meters of land illegally seized to benefit from them in solving housing problems and that this decision represents a strong start to deter those who steal public money.
