On October 28, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Milorad Dodik, the leader of Bosnian Serbs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the sidelines of the 3rd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security.

The officials engaged in a substantive exchange of views regarding the current state of the Bosnian peace settlement in the context of the domestic political crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Mr Lavrov and Mr Dodik voiced principled support for the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina (the Dayton Agreement) of 1995, which remains the only viable framework for peace and security in the country and the wider western Balkan region. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the partnership between Russia and Republika Srpska.
