Supervised by Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin, Russia's Strategic Nuclear Forces undergo training exercise

Today, under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, Strategic Nuclear Forces conducted training exercises with the involvement of their ground-, sea- and air-based components. During the exercises, practical launches of intercontinental ballistic missiles and air-based cruise missiles were carried out.
A Yars intercontinental ballistic missile was launched from the Plesetsk State Cosmodrome on the Kura training ground in Kamchatka. A Sineva ballistic missile was launched from the nuclear strategic missile cruiser submarine Bryansk located in the Barents Sea. Tu-95ms long-range aircraft were also involved in the training hitting mock enemy targets with air-launched cruise missiles. The practical launches were directed from the National Defence Control Centre of the Russian Federation.
The exercises were performed to check the level of military command bodies and practical skills of operational personnel in organising command and control of subordinate troops.
All training tasks have been completed.
