Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un held a bilateral meeting for more than an hour and a half in Beijing after attending China's V-day commemorations on Wednesday. After they concluded the meeting, the Russian and North Korean leaders shook hands, hugged and exchanged well-wishes, according to a video posted by Kremlin.

The video showed that the two leaders walking out of a building in the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing, surrounded by cameramen and staff members, smiling and then shaking hands.

At parting, they also exchanged well-wishes, wishing each other good health and success in their work. Putin also invited Kim to visit Russia, Russian media RT reported.

The talks between Putin and Kim in Beijing have ended after more than an hour and a half. After the formal meeting wrapped up, the two leaders continued their conversation one-on-one, RT said.

Putin expressed his happiness to meet North Korean leader in Beijing on Wednesday, TASS said.

The Russian head of state added that he was happy to see his North Korean counterpart. "And I am happy to have an opportunity to discuss our bilateral relations across the board, among other topics," Putin specified.

Kim emphasized that the relations between the two countries have developed in all aspects since they signed a strategic partnership treaty in June last year, the Yonhap News Agency reported.

Both Putin and Kim attended grand commemorative gathering marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War on Wednesday morning in Beijing.
