On August 11, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan at the request of the Armenian side.
The Armenian foreign minister informed his counterpart about recent contacts between Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, US President Donald Trump and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Sergey Lavrov underscored the importance of achieving a sustainable peace between Baku and Yerevan in line with the trilateral agreements, reached at the highest level with Russia's central role in 2020-2022. Moscow reaffirmed its readiness to continue facilitating the comprehensive normalisation of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
A number of current issues on the Russian-Armenian agenda were also discussed.
